Commitment to Community Continues Through Gift

Steve and I became involved with the Mile High United Way when we moved to Denver in 2001. Originally, I was approached by Women United and asked if I would join their community council. After a few years as a council member, I had the wonderful opportunity to co-chair this amazing group. My participation in the Women United group provided wonderful opportunities for our children to experience giving in a safe environment with meaningful interactions with the youths and adults who are served by Mile High United Way. Through the council involvement I realized the true power that a collective group can bring to real issues. Additionally, we have made what is sure to be lifelong friendships.

After a few years of giving at the leadership level, Steve and I made the commitment to join our Legacy Society, where we have enjoyed a deeper understanding of the issues facing our community and the agencies that are collaborating for social change. It is important to us that our children are a part of our philanthropy and that we are demonstrating our commitment to the community in a variety of ways. Through the Mile High United Way, we have the opportunity to volunteer as a family, and now, through the legacy gift we have put in place, our commitment to philanthropy will extend past our lifetime.

If your family is looking for a way to deepen your philanthropic commitment, consider a legacy gift through the Mile High United Way.
